Full Job Description

Job Summary

Provide direct behavioral services to clients in individual and group sessions.
Run skill acquisition programs with clients using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior Analysis (VBA).
Complete weekly program writing and maintain each client’s program book.
Work with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and/or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) to implement individualized treatment plans.
Collect and graph data as instructed using technological programs, such as Microsoft Excel or behavioral software.
Maintain respect, confidentiality, and professionalism with all clients.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Protect the well-being of all clients during treatment sessions and in emergency or crisis situations.
Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator.

Duties

Conduct assessments to identify behavioral issues and develop individualized treatment plans.
Implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques in clinical settings.
Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to therapy.
Provide training and support to parents and caregivers on behavior management techniques.
Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, including documentation of progress using ICD-9 codes where applicable.
Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and share insights on best practices.
Stay informed about current research and developments in behavioral therapy.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years of age.
Certified Applied Behavior Analysis Technician (ABAT) – a credential for individuals who implement behavior-analytic interventions under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – a paraprofessional certification for individuals practicing under the supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA to implement behavior-analytic services.
Completion of 40 hours of continuing education within the first 2 weeks of employment if not already certified.
Completion of ABAT or RBT certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Experience working with children in clinical, educational, or care settings is highly desirable.

Preferred Credentials and Experience
Individuals who have successfully worked with children are encouraged to apply. This includes, but is not limited to:

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs)
Patient Care Specialists
Patient Care Associates
Daycare workers
Camp leaders
Teacher assistants
ABATs and RBTs (see above for definitions)

Additional Qualifications

Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles and techniques.
Familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-9 is a plus.
Strong skills in data collection and analysis related to behavior management.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
Background in pediatrics or child/family counseling is advantageous.
Understanding of special education processes is beneficial.
Must live in or near the posted area and be available for in-person services.
Must have reliable transportation, be punctual, and be willing to travel up to 25 miles one-way (no overnight or out-of-area travel required).
Strong verbal and written communication, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

This is an IN-PERSON position.
Work location depends on the client’s needs and treatment plan and may take place in a variety of settings, including our clinic, community settings, homes, daycares, etc.
