The Medical Laboratory Technologist reports to the Laboratory Manager and the Medical Director (Pathologist), with daily support from lead technologists and clinical educators; responsibilities for the Medical Laboratory Scientist include specimen collection and processing when needed, analytical testing with meticulous QC/QA, instrument calibration and maintenance, method verification, proficiency testing, regulatory readiness (CLIA/COLA/CAP standards), timely critical value communication, LIS troubleshooting, and point-of-care oversight, all while collaborating closely with friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team—pharmacists, respiratory therapists, imaging technologists, case managers, and more—who value a Clinical Laboratory Scientist’s expertise and foster a respectful, team-first culture.
