Full Job Description

Position Summary: Alaska Air Transit has opened a position for a full time Charter Coordinator at our Merrill Field, Anchorage based Air Taxi. The Charter Coordinator acts as a concierge for our charter clients from the moment they call our office to the moment their flight takes off, which includes anticipating issues, confirming details, and resolving problems before they affect a customer’s flight. The Charter Coordinator is a cross-functional role that requires customer service, quality assurance, and a strong understanding of operational limitations. They must respond to customer requests to ensure all customer goals are met while also ensuring that our flights follow all legal and company requirements for Part 135 Charter Operations. Because the Charter Coordinator must have a strong understanding of our customers and procedures, the training for this role includes several months of cross-training in the other departments at Alaska Air Transit.

Position Responsibilities:

Ownership of all incoming company communications regarding charter flights and daily schedule needs, via email, phone, and text messages.
Handling all inquiries of chartered flight services and developing charter quotes within company guidelines.
Track charter activity, pricing, and customer history to support accurate quoting and repeat business.
Maintaining a high level of knowledge of all company operating standards, and scheduled routes and services.
Assigning flight crew and aircraft resources appropriately to meet client requests wherever possible.
Coordinating with Director of Maintenance and Chief Pilot to ensure Aircraft and Pilot resources are available and in qualification to complete customer missions.
Understanding and clearly communicating customer goals and objectives for chartered flights to all AAT Departments, acting as an advocate for the customer within the company.
Ensuring customer satisfaction in the charter flight experience by communicating to the customer all details from the scheduling of a flight to the departure of a flight.
Educating customers on all aspects of our services and operations within Alaska.
Maintaining on-going relationships with charter customers and cultivating new relationships with potential customers by communicating service opportunities and AAT’s critical success factors.
Fulfilling client requests for ancillary services (i.e. travel accommodations or ground transportation) where appropriate.
Assist AAT teammates with higher level customer service requests, complaints, or communications.
Maintain various sources of customer communication, such as company phone, website, email, and Facebook.
Perform sales analysis and evaluate performance for our customers and for internal improvement.

Position Requirements:

Previous Part 135 or air charter experience in Customer Service, Operations, or Logistics OR general Alaskan aviation background with experience in Sales or Customer Service.
Experience in Rural Alaska or with the people or industries of Rural Alaska.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with standard office software (email, scheduling tools, spreadsheets).
Ability to work overtime during high demand.
