NovaMoon Strategies™ is a trauma-informed behavioral consulting and family support organization dedicated to helping children, adolescents, adults, and families achieve measurable and sustainable change. Position Summary
We are seeking compassionate, motivated, and flexible Mental & Behavioral Specialists / Therapists to join our growing team. We welcome both fully licensed clinicians and Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns (RMHCI), Registered Clinical Social Work Interns (RCSWI), and Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Interns (RMFTI).
This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about trauma-informed care, behavioral interventions, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), positive behavior support, family systems, neurodiversity-affirming practices, crisis stabilization, and community-based services. We strongly encourage applicants with RBT certification or experience in ABA, behavior modification, behavior intervention planning, or working with children and families with behavioral challenges to apply.
Services may be provided in homes, schools, community settings, and virtually depending on client needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed behavioral and mental health support services to children, adolescents, adults, and families
- Conduct assessments, behavioral observations, and treatment planning
- Implement individualized interventions focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, communication, attachment, and behavioral stabilization
- Provide caregiver coaching and parent support
- Support children and families involved in dependency, reunification, foster care, or high-conflict family systems
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, treatment plans, and monthly reports
- Collaborate with case managers, schools, GALs, attorneys, and multidisciplinary teams as appropriate
- Utilize evidence-based and developmentally appropriate interventions
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and training opportunities
- Maintain professionalism, ethical standards, and trauma-informed practices at all times
Preferred Experience
- Trauma-informed care
- Behavioral intervention and crisis stabilization
- Child and family therapy
- Dependency or foster care system experience
- Neurodiversity-affirming practices
- Parent coaching and family systems work
- School-based behavioral support
- Experience with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, trauma, or attachment-related concerns
Qualifications
- Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Psychologist, or Registered Intern status preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Behavioral Analysis, or related field
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Reliable transportation for community-based services
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
