ASSISTANT COMMUNITY MANAGER OPPORTUNITIES

The Opportunity

MCMC is recruiting for Assistant Community Manager positions in St. Paul and Burnsville/Apple Valley. These positions partner with the Community Manager and on-site teams to support leasing, resident service, collections, property operations, maintenance coordination, employee support, and overall community performance. Available portfolio details are listed below by location.

St. Paul, Minnesota

Portfolio: 492 units, 11 properties, 36 buildings

Schedule: Full-time, on-site

Compensation: $57,000 to $60,000 annually

Classification: Exempt

Burnsville / Apple Valley, Minnesota

Portfolio: 248 units, 2 properties, 4 buildings

Schedule: Full-time, on-site

Compensation: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour

Classification: Nonexempt

What You Will Do

· Support daily property operations and provide responsive service to residents, prospects, vendors, and team members.

· Complete leasing activities, including responding to inquiries, conducting showings, qualifying prospects, assisting with applications, completing lease documents, and following up to support occupancy goals.

· Assist with rent collection, delinquency follow-up, resident notices, renewals, move-ins, move-outs, and lease-compliance efforts.

· Maintain accurate leasing, resident, traffic, and property records and prepare correspondence, notices, reports, newsletters, and community materials.

· Coordinate unit turns, inspections, service requests, and maintenance follow-up with community and maintenance teams.

· Assist with supervising, training, scheduling, and supporting on-site employees and assume community leadership responsibilities when the Community Manager is unavailable.

· Support property inspections, safety checklists, resident outreach events, marketing activities, and competitive market surveys.

· Help ensure the property remains clean, safe, well maintained, and compliant with Fair Housing requirements, company policies, and applicable laws.

· Respond professionally to resident concerns, changing priorities, and occasional operational emergencies.

What You Bring

· At least one year of property management experience.

· High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.

· Working knowledge of leasing, resident relations, collections, property operations, and Fair Housing requirements, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.

· Strong customer service, communication, organization, follow-through, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide support across multiple property functions.

· Experience with property management, accounting, email, spreadsheet, and business software; experience with Rent Manager, AvidXchange, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is helpful.

· Valid driver's license, current automobile liability insurance, and reliable transportation for local errands and property-related travel.

· Availability to work the first and last day of each month and assume Community Manager responsibilities when needed.

· Successful completion of a background investigation as a condition of employment.

Benefit eligibility and plan terms vary. Physical and Work Environment

· This is an on-site property management role requiring frequent walking through indoor and outdoor areas in varying weather and on different surfaces.

· The employee may occasionally lift, push, or move up to 50 pounds and work near equipment, cleaning products, wet areas, fumes, or other conditions typical of residential property operations.
