Full Job Description

The Senior Buyer Associate is responsible for supporting procurement and material planning activities to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role manages purchase orders, monitors supplier deliveries, tracks inventory levels, and coordinates material-related issues with internal stakeholders and suppliers. The Senior Buyer Associate serves as an experienced procurement team member who independently handles day-to-day purchasing activities while supporting Senior Buyers with supplier management, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Supplier Management:

· Create, maintain, and monitor purchase orders for assigned commodities and suppliers.

· Follow up with suppliers regarding order acknowledgments, delivery schedules, and shipment status.

· Expedite materials as required to support production schedules and customer commitments.

· Assist in resolving purchase order discrepancies, shipment delays, and supplier communication issues.

· Support forecast distribution and monitor supplier commitments.

Inventory & Material Control:

· Monitor inventory levels and material flow to prevent shortages, line-down risks, or excess inventory.

· Lead disposition activities for defective, excess, or obsolete materials in coordination with AM/MC, NPI, and engineering teams.

· Support material planning for engineering changes and new product introductions (NPI).

· Communicate material risks or constraints to Planning, Production, Order Fulfillment, and Account Management teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

· Serve as a primary procurement interface with Planning, Logistics, Receiving Warehouse, SQM, QA, NPI, MPM, and Finance teams.

· Resolve complex material, logistics, and payment issues with minimal escalation.

· Ensure expediting and freight decisions align with company policies and authorization thresholds.

· Partner with Finance on invoice discrepancies, payment resolution, and cost analysis.

Supplier Performance & Reporting:

· Analyze supplier delivery, quality, and responsiveness metrics.

· Generate and maintain procurement, inventory, and supplier performance reports.

· Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities and communicate findings to management and sourcing teams.

Leadership & Process Improvement:

· Provide guidance, training, and coordination support to Buyer Associates as needed.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes, inventory optimization, and supplier performance.

· Contribute to the development and refinement of procurement procedures and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.

· Minimum 4–7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, materials management, or supply chain operations.

· Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.

· Strong understanding of purchasing processes and inventory management principles.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting manufacturing, electronics, or high-mix production environments.
Experience working with global suppliers and international logistics.
Familiarity with inventory planning and demand forecasting processes.
Experience supporting NPI and engineering change activities.

Skills:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, and SharePoint.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit for extended periods while performing procurement and data analysis work.

· Ability to stand and walk as needed when moving between office, warehouse, and receiving areas.

· Frequent use of hands for typing, data entry, reporting, and document handling.

· Ability to travel between offices, warehouses, and receiving locations within the facility as required.

· Visual ability to review data, reports, and supplier documentation accurately.

· Occasional lifting or handling of documents/files and light materials related to procurement operations (generally low weight).

Work Environment:

· Primarily office-based role supporting manufacturing and warehouse operations.

· Regular interaction with cross-functional teams including Planning, Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, Quality, and Engineering.

· Exposure to manufacturing and warehouse environments during supplier or material coordination activities.

· Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines tied to production schedules and material availability.

· May require flexible working hours to coordinate with global suppliers, including Asia-based time zones.

· Occasional travel or on-site visits to the Juárez, Mexico facility or other operational sites as needed.

· High collaboration environment involving internal stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors.

· Work requires managing multiple priorities and responding to urgent supply chain or production-related issues.
