WE AREN'T JUST OPENING A RESTAURANT. WE ARE BUILDING A LEGACY.
Founded in 1935 in Mexico City, El Moro is an institution beloved by millions. Known for crafting the world's finest artisanal churros and authentic hot chocolate, we are now bringing our historic brand to the United States.
To do this, we need the heart of our kitchen: The Churrero.
At El Moro, our Churro Makers are the "Keepers of the Tradition." This is not your average prep cook or fry cook role. You will be learning an artisanal craft, balancing the science of dough-making with the precision of frying to execute our proprietary 90-year-old recipe. We are looking for gritty, passionate culinary professionals who thrive in a high-volume, high-energy kitchen.
Master the Craft: You will mix our proprietary dough to the exact consistency required, ensuring strict adherence to the 1935 recipe.
The Perfect Fry: Operate the churro extruder and manage the fryers. You know that temperature control and timing are the difference between a good churro and a "Golden Brown" masterpiece.
Plate with Pride: Act as the final quality gatekeeper. You ensure every churro is perfectly seasoned, beautifully plated, and served hot to our guests.
Protect the Standard: Maintain a spotless, Siempre Intachable (impeccable) station. You clean as you go and maintain strict California Health Code safety standards.
Feed the Energy: Bring a Siempre Positivo attitude to the line, communicating clearly with the front-of-house team to keep tickets moving during massive rushes.
Experienced: You have 1-2+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen (bakery, pastry, or high-volume fry cook experience is a massive plus).
Detail-Obsessed: You take pride in consistency. You want the first churro of your shift to look and taste exactly like the last.
Cool Under Pressure: You don't panic when the ticket machine starts printing. You thrive in a fast-paced, warm, and loud kitchen environment.
Bilingual: Conversational proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred to easily communicate with our bicultural Familia.
Ready to Work: You can stand for an 8-hour shift, lift up to 50 lbs (bags of flour, oil), and comfortably work safely near hot oil and commercial equipment.
Certified: You have an active California Food Handler Card (or can get one within 30 days).
The Ground Floor: You are joining a historic brand at the very beginning of a massive US expansion. The career growth opportunities here are very real.
Great Pay: Competitive hourly base pay PLUS a share of the team tip pool.
The Culture: We work hard, but we take care of our own. We offer a deeply inclusive environment where your craft is respected.
At El Moro, there is a seat at our table for everyone. We don't hire based on background, gender, who you love, or where you come from; we hire based on passion, grit, and the drive to build a legacy.
