Full Job Description

Sonographer – RJIR Vascular and Oncology Center

POSITION SUMMARY

RJIR Vascular & Oncology is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist with RDMS certification to join our advanced outpatient vascular and interventional team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic and vascular ultrasound exams in a fast-paced setting while delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians with accurate and timely imaging.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform general and vascular ultrasound studies including:
Lower and upper extremity venous duplex
Arterial duplex and ABI studies
Abdominal aorta and renal artery duplex
Pelvic/transvaginal ultrasound (as applicable)
Soft tissue and thyroid ultrasound
Properly acquire, document, and label all required images
Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures as needed (e.g., biopsies, drainages)
Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and dignity during exams
Work closely with physicians to review findings and ensure clinical accuracy
Maintain and document machine calibration and routine quality control
Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and HIPAA standards
Upload studies to PACS and EMR systems (e.g., DrChronos) in a timely manner
Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative teams

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: RDMS certification by ARDMS (Abdomen or Vascular)
Preferred: RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RVS certification
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant clinical ultrasound experience (vascular preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
CPR/BLS certification (can be obtained upon hire)
