Full Job Description

Staff Accountant

Location: New Hampshire / Seacoast Area
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Pay: Competitive salary based on experience

About the Position

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This is a hands-on position for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Our company operates multiple businesses and properties, including hospitality, restaurants, entertainment, and other operating entities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and accounting team to keep day-to-day accounting accurate, organized, and up to date.

What You'll Do

Assist with day-to-day accounting functions for multiple entities
Enter and code bills, invoices, and other financial transactions
Process vendor payments and assist with ACH payment processing
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
Review transactions for accuracy and proper account coding
Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
Assist with month-end closing procedures
Prepare and maintain account reconciliations
Assist with financial reporting and accounting research
Help monitor outstanding invoices and vendor balances
Work with vendors to resolve billing and payment questions
Assist with payroll-related accounting and other administrative accounting tasks
Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information

What We're Looking For

2+ years of accounting experience preferred
Experience with QuickBooks Online strongly preferred
Strong understanding of debits, credits, and basic accounting principles
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfortable working with multiple entities and priorities
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
Ability to identify discrepancies and research issues independently
Good communication and follow-through
Someone who takes ownership and isn't afraid to ask questions
Ability to work independently while also being part of a small accounting team

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is reliable, organized, curious, and willing to jump in wherever needed. This is not a position where you'll simply enter data and move on. You'll have the opportunity to learn the business, understand how the different entities operate, and play an important role in keeping the accounting department running smoothly.

Hospitality, restaurant, or multi-entity accounting experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person with a strong accounting foundation and a great attitude.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
