Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Childcare Chef to join our vibrant team dedicated to providing nutritious, appealing, and balanced meals for children in a dynamic childcare environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine culinary expertise with a nurturing approach, ensuring young minds and bodies are fueled with wholesome food that supports their growth and development. As a Childcare Chef, you will be responsible for planning menus, preparing meals, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Your enthusiasm and leadership will inspire your team while creating a positive dining experience for children.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement age-appropriate menus that meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate dietary restrictions.
Prepare, cook, and serve meals efficiently while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Supervise kitchen staff, including training new team members and ensuring smooth shift management.
Oversee inventory control, order supplies, and manage food storage to minimize waste and optimize resources.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper handling procedures.
Collaborate with staff to coordinate meal times, snack schedules, and special dietary needs.
Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory levels, and safety inspections.

Requirements

Proven experience in food production within a childcare, banquet, or fine dining setting.
Demonstrated supervising experience with strong leadership skills in a kitchen environment.
Knowledge of dietary requirements specific to children and experience with dietary department protocols.
Expertise in menu planning, food preparation, catering, and restaurant management practices.
Familiarity with inventory management systems, food safety standards, and kitchen operations.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
