Operations Manager – Remount Operations

The story of Medix began in January 2001 in Elkhart, Indiana. What started as a response to the need for more cost-effective ambulance manufacturing has evolved into a commitment to delivering the highest performance value in the industry. Today, Medix is recognized for building ambulances that prioritize safety, quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

As we continue to expand our aftermarket and customer care capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help establish and grow our North American Customer Care and Remount Operations presence. This is a unique opportunity to build processes, develop teams, and create a scalable service organization that supports our customers long after the initial vehicle delivery.

With projected growth exceeding 25% year-over-year, this role will play a critical part in shaping the future of our customer care and remount business.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for Medix's remount, refurbishment, repair, and customer care operations. This individual will be responsible for building a high-performing service organization focused on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and profitable growth.

The ideal candidate is both a builder and an operator—someone who can establish systems, processes, and accountability while remaining hands-on in driving daily execution. This role will work closely with customers, production teams, engineering, supply chain, and leadership to ensure an exceptional aftermarket experience throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Lead daily operations of the remount and refurbishment facility.
Develop scalable operational processes that support significant business growth.
Establish performance metrics, reporting, and accountability systems.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Ensure production schedules and customer commitments are achieved.

Aftermarket Growth

Help establish and expand Medix's North American Customer Care and Aftermarket presence.
Develop service strategies that strengthen customer relationships and brand loyalty.
Partner with sales and leadership teams to identify new revenue opportunities within aftermarket services.
Support the development of long-term growth plans for remount, refurbishment, repair, and service operations.

Team Development

Build, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team.
Create a culture centered on accountability, engagement, safety, and customer service.
Develop leadership capabilities within supervisory and frontline teams.
Support workforce planning and staffing strategies to meet growth objectives.

Customer Experience

Serve as a key escalation point for customer concerns.
Ensure timely communication and resolution of customer issues.
Drive initiatives that improve customer satisfaction and service responsiveness.
Foster strong relationships with ambulance fleet managers, municipalities, hospitals, and service providers.

Financial & Business Performance

Manage operational budgets and performance objectives.
Drive productivity improvements and operational efficiencies.
Monitor key business metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Support strategic planning and capital investment initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
5+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, service operations, aftermarket operations, or related industries.
Demonstrated success leading teams through growth and operational change.
Strong understanding of operational excellence, process development, and continuous improvement principles.
Experience managing customer-facing operations and service delivery.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

Experience in specialty vehicles, automotive, transportation equipment, emergency vehicles, heavy equipment, or related industries.
Experience launching or expanding service, repair, refurbishment, or aftermarket operations.
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement experience.
Experience managing P&L responsibilities and business performance metrics.

Within the first 12–24 months, this leader will:

Help establish a scalable North American customer care and aftermarket operating model.
Successfully support planned growth exceeding 25% annually.
Improve operational performance, customer satisfaction, and service responsiveness.
Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Position the remount operation as a strategic growth engine for the organization.
