Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the organization’s financial health. Expertise in QuickBooks and Acctivate Inventory Software and systems will help streamline processes, facilitate precise reporting, and uphold the integrity of our financial data. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that values accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Duties

Record and process all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or other relevant systems
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
Prepare journal entries, analyze account activity, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Support payroll processing activities, including calculating wages, deductions, and tax filings
Assist with monthly financial report writing, budget tracking, and variance analysis
Conduct account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation to verify data accuracy and completeness

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks and Acctivate Inventory Softweare
Familiarity with corporate accounting standards, governmental accounting practices, and non-profit accounting is a plus
Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and account analysis
Experience with payroll processing, tax filings, and government reporting requirements
Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), including 10-key typing for data entry accuracy
Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting efficiently
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in all financial tasks
Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting practices is highly desirable
