Job Summary

Granger Surgery Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate PRN Radiology Technologist I to join our imaging team. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality diagnostic radiographic images while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary healthcare providers to support efficient surgical center operations and deliver optimal, patient-centered care.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Clinical Imaging: Performs high-quality radiographic procedures independently, ensuring reproducible, diagnostic-quality images while strictly adhering to positioning guidelines and departmental standards.
Radiation Safety: Practices strict radiation safety principles in accordance with ALARA guidelines; actively participates in Image Gently and Image Wisely programs to minimize patient and staff exposure.
Patient Care: Prepares patients for imaging procedures, verifies orders, confirms patient identity using two unique identifiers, and thoroughly explains procedures to ensure comfort and understanding.
Demographic Competency: Demonstrates population-appropriate clinical competencies for all relevant patient demographics treated at the surgery center.
Equipment & Environment Maintenance: Cleans and maintains imaging equipment and modalities in compliance with infection control protocols to ensure a safe, sterile, and organized environment.
Inventory Control: Ensures the availability, sterility, and proper organization of all supplies and equipment needed for seamless patient care.
Advanced Procedures: Inserts IV catheters for contrast injections when performing specialized CT or MRI procedures in strict accordance with departmental policies.
Documentation & PACS: Scans and verifies all associated clinical documents into PACS for prompt radiologist interpretation, ensuring impeccable records management.
Artifact Mitigation: Proactively identifies and mitigates artifacts in images to guarantee optimal image quality and reduce the need for re-takes.
Collaboration & Attendance: Communicates effectively with peers, staff, physicians, leadership, and administration to support seamless patient care delivery. Maintains regular, reliable attendance and complies with all facility policies and standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 0-1 years of clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist required. (Open to exceptional recent graduates!)
Education & Certification: Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification is required.
Licensure: State-issued Radiologic Technologist license (as applicable by the State of Indiana) is required.
Life Support: BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer. Please note: This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Strong foundational knowledge of radiologic imaging techniques, precise patient positioning, and modern radiation safety protocols.
Proficiency in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining advanced radiology equipment.
Excellent patient-care, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail with the ability to quickly recognize imaging abnormalities or artifacts.
Adaptable and flexible with a proven ability to work seamlessly both independently and collaboratively.
Strong organizational skills and proficiency utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.
