Full Job Description

Elko location Medical Assistant Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. We provide our patients with specialty health care in rural NV that they would otherwise have to travel several hours for. We strive to help our patients with conservative care of their pain management. We are looking for a full staff who equally have a desire to help and care for those in our community. If you have a strong background in patient service, vital signs, medication administration, and basic life support, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance forms
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies and keep a record of inventory
- Provide patient education on procedures, medications, and self-care instructions
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a hospital or clinic setting is highly desired - Strong desire to help those in need
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficient in performing vital signs measurements accurately
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively - Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work - Strives to continue to learn and have initiative to continue training - Previous experience with computer software programs with EHRs and Microsoft Office

Job Type: Full-time

This position requires a highly organized individual with strong administrative skills. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for overseeing daily patient/provider operations, managing medications, coordinating referrals, providing patient support, and ensuring that there is accurate follow through with all orders and labs. Proficiency in Microsoft office programs and keeping detailed accounts of patient interaction is essential for providing the best care of our patients. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to multitask effectively.
