Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. This vital role involves overseeing clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive clinical expertise, and a passion for improving patient outcomes across diverse settings including acute care, long-term care, and specialized units such as ICU or pediatric care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic healthcare environment while fostering team excellence and operational efficiency.

Duties

Supervise daily nursing activities, ensuring high-quality patient care aligned with hospital policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards such as NCQA.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, promoting professional development and maintaining team engagement.
Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medical documentation, and medical records management using EMR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth.
Oversee clinical procedures including IV insertion, catheterization, wound suturing, phlebotomy, medication administration, and sterile processing techniques.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations and infection control protocols to safeguard patient information and promote a safe environment.
Participate in discharge planning, case management activities, utilization review, and utilization management to optimize patient outcomes and resource use.
Facilitate communication among multidisciplinary teams including physicians during procedures such as cardiac catheterization or spinal tap to ensure seamless patient care delivery.

Skills

Extensive clinical experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers with proficiency in trauma management and acute pain control.
Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or nurse management experience in diverse settings including hospital medicine, behavioral health, geriatrics, or pediatrics.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and data retrieval.
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures like gastrostomy or ophthalmology interventions.
Ability to perform complex patient assessments including vital signs measurement, physical examinations, airway management (ventilators), and diagnostic evaluation.
Skilled in performing invasive procedures such as venipuncture, tube feeding management, sterile technique applications, and catheter care.
Familiarity with specialty areas like dementia care (Alzheimer’s/memory care), neonatal ventilator support (NICU), or assisted living environments is a plus.
