Full Job Description

Our Evansville Logistics team has an opening for a Shipping Clerk - International! This role will assist the coordination of daily domestic and international shipping functions in the Logistics Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist Coordination of Inventory/Materials

o Place orders (purchase requisitions) to obtain an adequate supply of shipping and receiving materials.

o Maintain knowledge of proper packaging methods.

o Maintain knowledge of most common shipping and receiving equipment.

o Obtain and maintain certification as a FLANDERS certified fork truck operator.

Shipping

o Assist management with developing agreements with freight carriers and monitoring their performance.

o Make arrangements for pick-up by the specified carrier(s) of all domestic outbound shipments. Make arrangements for pick-up of international outbound shipments as needed.

o Complete all commercial documents for international shipments.

o Complete Bill-of-Lading forms.

o Maintain knowledge of various forms and software used and required by freight, international, and parcel carriers.

o Complete all appropriate internal and external documentation for proper shipping procedure.

o Provide proof of deliveries to the invoicing department as required.

o Complete freight requisitions as required.

o Package product appropriately for shipment.

o Load trucks for shipment.

Other

o Assist the Shipping and Receiving Assistant(s) as needed in all areas.

o Promote teamwork by exhibiting positive teamwork with employees.

Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

One year of experience in shipping

Knowledge of shipping procedures

International shipping experience required

Good written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office software

Ability to remain calm under time sensitive situations

Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division including understanding fractions and percentages

Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions

Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures

Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to routine duties within set company standards
