Position Summary: Full Time Pastry/ Prep Cook. 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. M-F. To perform all functions accurately and efficiently while emphasizing great customer service. This is a 10-month position with approximately 2 months off without pay during the summer.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparation of deli sandwiches, salad bar and desserts daily

Bake, decorate, prepare cakes, pastries, and desserts as needed.

Preparation of specialty items including, but not limited to, gluten free, nut free, dairy free, vegan, etc.

Comply with nutritional alternative meal production and sanitation guidelines.

Daily kitchen support during breakfast and lunch

Ensure timely setup, service and breakdown of workstations!

Perform routine kitchen and dining services tasks in support of daily services and catering as needed.

Monitor food quality, ensure proper labeling and rotation. Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.

Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.

Address any issues or concerns promptly and implement corrective actions.

Support the creation of prep list created to support daily food production.

Follow all King County Health food safety standards in regard to quality assurance including assuring team is fully compliant with processes and requirements.

Perform other kitchen and FOH duties as necessary and assigned.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Will need to work outside of normal shift hours for several events during the school year.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of related experience in fast-paced food industry

Proven experience as a pastry/deli cook is a plus

Must have a current Washington State Food Handlers Permit

High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
Compensation

Hourly pay $22-$25 per hour.

This is a 10-month position with approximately 2 months off without pay during the summer.
