Company Overview

Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County (DVSSC) is a non-profit agency working within the Snohomish County community to create an environment which is safe, responsive and supportive of domestic violence survivors and their children. We foster dignity, respect, hope and self-determination in everything we do. We are an inclusive organization, providing services to all ages, genders, races, religions, cultures, national origins, sexual orientations, and income levels. All services are free and confidential.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Program Specialist to lead and coordinate impactful programs aimed at supporting domestic violence victims. In this role, you will develop, implement, and oversee programs that empower individuals, foster community engagement, and promote awareness. Your leadership will drive program success through effective volunteer management, strategic outreach, and data-driven evaluation.

Responsibilities

● Social media content development which may include graphic design, video editing, and podcast audio editing

● Facilitate prevention programming for emergency DV shelter youth program, court mandated family support classes, and in other contexts as opportunities are available

● Facilitate court mandated parenting curriculum for CPS involved survivors

● Support North and South County Prevention, Education, and Outreach Coordinators in facilitating prevention curriculum in local schools, after school programs, and community spaces as a secondary staff or substitute

● Support North and South County Prevention, Education, and Outreach Coordinators in outreach efforts to community as a secondary staff or substitute

● Develop and execute Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month campaign; collaborate with Development team to execute Domestic Violence Awareness Month campaign

● Work alongside Prevention, Education, and Outreach Manager to develop, update, and facilitate training curriculum

● Facilitate Domestic Violence Impact Panel curriculum as needed

● Facilitate a domestic violence survivor support group upon request from management

● Frequent driving in all regions of Snohomish County

● Other duties as assigned

Required

● Comfortable with frequently public speaking in a variety of environments and with differing audience sizes and age groups

● Comfortable engaging with community members of all ages in discussions about domestic violence and healthy relationships on a frequent basis

● Interest in educating the Snohomish County community about domestic violence and the services available to survivors

● Knowledge of intersectionality as a theory and how intersecting identities can impact survivors’ experiences with teen dating violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault

● Comfortable working with youth in a variety of settings

● Ability to adjust communication style and approach based on audience

● Critical thinking and ability to adapt to new situations, assess priorities, handle multiple assignments, maintain an organized schedule, and meet deadlines

● Basic graphic design skills or proficiency with programs such as Canva

● Strong written and oral communication skills, proficiency with e-communications, such as email or IM platforms

● Creativity, adaptability, and willingness to connect with others

● Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and car insurance; must be willing to travel throughout Snohomish County via vehicle

● Flexible hours as needed. Some weekend and evening hours are expected.

Desired

● Previous experience in curriculum development, public speaking, and/or training facilitation

● Passionate about our department’s mission to prevent domestic violence and support survivors

● Prior experience working with youth in a formal position

● Enjoys connecting with the community and colleagues

● Knowledge about domestic violence as a social issue

● Experience with audio editing and/or social media content development

● Actively seeking/has completed a degree in sociology, psychology, social work, education, or related field

● Bi/Multi-lingual

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
