Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Journeyman Electrician or a dedicated 4th Year Electrical Apprentice to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations.
- Work with low voltage systems, high voltage setups, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards to ensure compliance and safety.
- Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues efficiently.
- Collaborate on construction sites by framing carpentry, conduit routing, and ensuring proper wiring practices aligned with schematics.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including working with high voltage systems and low voltage controls.
- Perform residential remodels, commercial tenant finish-outs, and new construction work.
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or currently enrolled as a 4th Year Electrical Apprentice with relevant experience.
- Proven experience working on construction sites with a strong understanding of blueprint reading and schematics.
- Familiarity with industrial electrician tasks, including PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with commercial electrical systems and renovation projects preferred.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices essential for electrical diagnostics.
- Knowledge of NEC standards, high voltage wiring practices, low voltage controls, and schematics interpretation.
- Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces while maintaining attention to detail.
- Additional skills such as handyman experience or frame carpentry are considered assets.
Qualifications
Journeyman Electrician
- Current Texas Journeyman Electrician License
- Minimum four years of electrical experience
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Valid Texas Driver License with an insurable driving record
4th Year Electrical Apprentice
- Registered Texas Electrical Apprentice
- Approximately four years of field experience
- Strong understanding of residential and commercial electrical systems
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Desire to continue learning and advance within the trade
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Commercial electrical service
- Residential service
- New construction
- Tenant finish-outs
- Panel replacements
- Service upgrades
- Lighting upgrades
- Generator installations
- EV charger installations
- Troubleshooting electrical controls
- Basic low-voltage systems
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Frequently climb ladders and scaffolding
- Work from aerial lifts when required
- Crawl through attics and crawlspaces
- Work on rooftops
- Bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods
- Work safely in indoor and outdoor environments, including Texas heat and changing weather conditions
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
Travel Requirements
Travel is an essential part of this position.
Employees must be willing to:
- Travel throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas.
- Travel anywhere within Texas as business needs require.
- Stay overnight for multi-day or multi-week commercial projects.
- Work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules when necessary to meet project deadlines.
- Represent the company professionally while working at customer sites and during travel.
Approved travel expenses, lodging, and applicable per diem will be provided in accordance with company policy.
