Job Title: Line Cook + Food Stylist Specialist

Location: East Greenwich, Rhode Island

About Graze on Main: Graze on Main is a charming wine and charcuterie shop nestled in one of East Greenwich's oldest buildings, constructed in 1770. Our shop, located in the lower level, provides an authentic European wine cellar experience. Specializing in curated meat and artisanal cheeses, we pride ourselves on creating "edible art" that encourages our guests to connect over unique and flavorful offerings. Our wine menu boasts 100+ labels of small production, organic, sustainable, and/or biodynamic wines, showcasing the true essence of each grape varietal. Graze on Main was established in 2020, at a time when the entire business was structured with “charcuterie to-go” in mind. While we still provide many charcuterie boards for off-site gatherings and events, Graze has since expanded to include on-site dining and with such, the menu offerings continue to evolve.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Line Cook + Food Stylist Specialist who can work independently, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills to maintain kitchen inventory, manage workflow, and prioritize orders. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food with a focus on cheese, charcuterie and wine, and take pride in the visual presentation and consistency of our menu offerings.

Responsibilities:

Kitchen Organization: Maintain a well-organized and clean kitchen space to ensure efficiency and compliance with health and safety standards.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels for kitchen ingredients and supplies. Ensure timely restocking, portion control, and minimizing waste.
Workflow Management: Coordinate and manage the flow of work in the kitchen, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Order Prioritization: Prioritize orders based on customer demand and special requests, ensuring a seamless and delightful dining experience.
Food Preparation: Execute precise and high-quality food preparation, following recipes and guidelines to consistently deliver exceptional menu items including, but not limited to, cutting cheeses/fruit, slicing cured meats, and portioning accompaniments (olives, jams, nuts etc) according to guidelines.
Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain consistency and quality in all food offerings.
Passion for Food: Share a genuine passion for food and contribute creative ideas to enhance our menu offerings.
Plate Presentation: Take a leading role in crafting visually stunning presentations for menu items, aligning with the aesthetic and culinary standards of Graze on Main.
Packaging Excellence: Ensure that every box or container used for takeout orders is packed with care and attention to detail, reflecting the quality of our offerings.
Menu Item Styling: Collaborate with the culinary team to understand the nuances of each menu item, and creatively enhance their visual appeal.
Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on the visual presentation of menu items to maintain consistency and uphold the high standards of Graze on Main.
Creative Input: Bring forth innovative ideas for enhancing the visual experience of our offerings, contributing to the overall uniqueness of Graze on Main.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure seamless coordination in presenting menu items and fulfilling orders.
Adaptability: Display flexibility in adapting presentation styles based on special requests or themed events.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a kitchen prep role and/or culinary presentation/plating role, preferably in a charcuterie or similar culinary environment.
Basic knife skills for food preparation
Strong artistic and creative abilities, with an eye for detail.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
Ability to work independently and/or ability to lead and manage time effectively.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations, preferably Food Safety Certified.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday + Sunday
