What you will be doing:
Manage, plan, evaluate, and guide all traffic safety related systems and performance within Northern Region. Manage the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and the Safety Management System (SMS) for Northern Region. Provide technical support in regard to traffic engineering and traffic safety related matters to the region, statewide and to local governments. Provide professional testimony on trials and other legal matters related to traffic and crashes.

An Alaska Professional Engineer´s License (PE) registration is required per AS 08.48.281, or a PE registration with a state recognized by the Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors to be eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b).

Registration as a professional engineer (PE) or professional architect, and two years of professional engineering or architectural experience as an Engineer 1, Architectural Assistant 3 or higher with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.
Special Note:
Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b). Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
