DESCRIPTION

Please Note: Napa Valley College accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately, if a need arises without having to wait for a period of time to advertise. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted by the department supervisor, dean and/or program coordinator. Applications submitted will remain active for up to two years.

Napa Valley College is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly Nursing instructors for our Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program. The starting salary range is $79.40-$85.87/classroom hour, with future steps up to $100.46/classroom hour. Placement is based on verified previous college teaching or counseling experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications required by Board of Registered Nursing

A master's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education or administration, and
Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by:
- a- One (1) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area; or,
- b-One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency; and,
- c-Completion of at least one (1) year's experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course which includes practice in teaching registered nursing.
Approval for subject matter competence by the Board of Registered Nursing.

Legible copies of transcripts verifying college work, degrees, and conferral dates.

NOTE: Unofficial copies of transcripts accepted at time of application, however, official transcripts will be required upon offer of employment.
Please remove SSN or DOB if visible on transcripts.
Foreign Transcripts: Napa Valley College requires that individuals who have completed college or university course work at an institution in a country other than the United States must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts, degrees and other relevant documents. A foreign transcript evaluation is required any time foreign course work is used to meet minimum qualifications and/or salary placement, even if the foreign transcript has previously been accepted by a different college or university in the United States. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by one of the organizations approved by the State of California, Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

It is important that your application reflect all of your relevant education and experience, including academic and non-academic employment history. Please note that your resume does not take the place of completing the "Work Experience" section of the application. Applications will be rejected if no work experience is listed, or if other required application fields are missing or incomplete.
