Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dermatology Medical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will support dermatologists and healthcare providers by delivering exceptional patient service, managing clinical tasks efficiently, and ensuring a smooth flow within the outpatient dermatology setting. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to a positive patient experience while maintaining high standards of medical support. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment dedicated to skin health and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate documentation.
Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout visits.
Assist dermatologists during examinations and minor procedures, including applying topical treatments or performing basic skin assessments.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient histories, treatment plans, and procedural notes clearly and accurately.
Support clinical workflows by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and coordinating follow-up care.
Handle medical administrative tasks such as ICD coding for diagnoses, updating patient charts, and processing referrals or medication requests.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols; assist with inventory management of supplies.
Support patient education efforts by providing instructions on skincare routines or post-procedure care under supervision.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospital medicine or outpatient clinics to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Demonstrate knowledge of physiology, anatomy related to dermatology, and basic medication administration when required.

Experience
Candidates should bring a strong foundation in dermatology . Familiarity with Dermatology terminology enhances your ability to excel in this role. Ideal applicants possess a comprehensive understanding of anatomy relevant to skin health, proficiency in EHR systems management, and the ability to support outpatient dermatology visits.
