Job Summary

We are a premier Interventional Pain Management Practice dedicated to restoring function and improving the quality of life for individuals suffering from chronic pain conditions. Our team provides compassionate, evidence-based care through advanced diagnostic techniques and cutting-edge, minimally invasive image-guided procedures. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE WEEKLY TRAVEL TO SPANISH FORT AND FOLEY

Role Summary

The Medical Assistant balances administrative efficiency with hands-on clinical care to ensure smooth daily operations. You will be responsible for preparing patients for complex spine and joint treatments, assisting physicians during sterile in-office procedures, and managing post-operative recovery. Your clinical precision and empathetic communication will directly impact our patients' safety, comfort, and compliance with their individualized pain treatment plans.

Core Responsibilities

Clinical Preparation: Escort patients to exam rooms, accurately measure vital signs, record thorough medical histories, and reconcile current medications.
Procedural Assistance: Set up sterile fields for image-guided injections, radiofrequency ablations, and spinal cord stimulator trials, strictly adhering to infection control protocols.
Patient Advocacy: Provide clear, empathetic pre-and post-procedure instructions regarding activity restrictions, wound care, and medication modifications.
EHR Management: Document clinical data concurrently within the Electronic Health Record system, tracking pain scores and medication compliance.
Inventory Control: Monitor, clean, and restock exam and procedure rooms with required medical supplies, reporting shortages proactively.
Administrative Support: Assist with prior authorizations for pain interventions and coordinate referrals to physical therapy or imaging centers as required.

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential from an accredited body (e.g., AAMA, AMT).
Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical medical assisting experience, preferably within an outpatient specialty clinic.
Technical Skills: Proficiency utilizing specialized Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and e-prescribing platforms.
Core Competency: Demonstrated understanding of sterile technique, infection control protocols, and basic medical terminology.
Compliance: Up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

Specialty Background: Prior clinical experience specifically within pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or outpatient surgical settings.
Advanced Experience: Hands-on experience assisting with fluoroscopy-guided or ultrasound-guided spinal and joint interventions.
System Familiarity: Familiarity with orthopedic or pain-management specific EHR templates and prescription monitoring programs.
