Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Master Electrician specializing in Industrial Controls and Automation to lead and execute complex electrical projects within industrial environments. This pivotal role involves overseeing electrical systems installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and building codes. As a Master Electrician, you will manage teams of electricians, interpret detailed blueprints, and implement innovative automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Your expertise will drive the success of our industrial electrical projects, fostering a safe and productive work environment while delivering top-quality results.

Responsibilities

Lead the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage setups.
Read, interpret, and review electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure precise implementation of electrical designs.
Manage teams of electricians on construction sites or renovation projects, providing guidance on electrical work procedures and safety protocols.
Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and power tools; perform repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards), NEC (National Electrical Code), and local building codes.
Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation equipment to optimize industrial processes.
Conduct thorough blueprint reviews for electrical drafting, verifying accuracy before installation or modifications.
Maintain rigorous adherence to electrical safety procedures, including proper handling of low voltage and high voltage systems.
Perform electrical systems installation in accordance with construction schedules while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Document all work activities accurately through detailed reports, logs, and incident documentation for quality assurance.

Experience

Proven experience as an electrician with a focus on industrial electrical systems; prior experience in commercial settings is highly valued.
Extensive knowledge of industrial controls, automation systems, PLC programming, and schematics reading.
Strong understanding of building codes such as NFPA 70 (NEC) and local electrical regulations; experience ensuring code compliance on large-scale projects.
Demonstrated ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical schematics for electrical drafting purposes.
Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; familiarity with power tools and hand tools required for installation tasks.
Construction site experience involving renovation or new build projects in industrial environments.
Ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards; previous leadership roles as an electrician are preferred.
Knowledge of high voltage systems alongside low voltage wiring practices; comfortable working with both types of systems in various settings.
