We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented BOM (Bill of Materials) Bag Lead. Whom will assist and work closely alongside the Kitchen Manager in the production, packaging and fulfilment of ingredient bags/barrels for MariMed’s Massachusetts Edible Manufacturing Kitchen as well as MariMed’s Edible Production Kitchen’s in various states/markets. The BOM Bag Lead will manage a team involved in various production and packaging processes of powdered ingredients and food products. The BOM Bag Lead retains an important role in establishing the necessary ingredients to meet the MA production team’s weekly/monthly goals and meeting order deadlines for out of state facilities. They are responsible for ensuring all BOM bags/barrels are produced, packed and palletized correctly and ready for distribution in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for producing, packaging and organizing medical and adult use cannabis edibles and their ingredients.
- Duties include necessary knowledge of portions, recipes, cooking and preparation methods and other possible alterations required to produce edibles and products that meet company standards in addition to meeting Federal and State regulatory standards, to include the Massachusetts CCC, the American National Standards Institute, and the Conferences for Food Protection.
- Adhere to all HACCP regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage, which includes proper food storage and the security of food storage area as well as all related equipment
- Prepare MA Manufacturing Kitchen with necessary BOM bags to meet or exceed production goals
- Update spreadsheets – ARL Kitchen Requests and fulfill and meet deadlines for all products
- Work with the Kitchen Manager on ordering ingredients needed for production daily
- Work closely with the procurement team for inbound and outbound goods
- Assist with counts of the monthly audits and end of year audits.
- Consistently utilizes the Grain Mill to grind down ingredients and follow basic cleaning and preventative maintenance protocols for the machine
- Consistently utilizes the Ribbon Blenders to homogenize and mix powdered ingredients and follow basic cleaning and preventative maintenance protocols for the machine
- Maintain various logs, and other various reports and forms to document monthly cleaning schedules, end of day closing checklist, spillages, product damage, etc.
- Must be able to work well with others and work quickly and effectively under pressure while providing quality results
- Must be able to lift/push/pull containers up to 50 pounds and carry them from storage area to work areas.
- Work varied shifts such as weekends, holidays and nights when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager
Experience
- Experience Requirements:
- 1+ years Team Leadership
- Excellent Attention to Detail and Precision
- Intermediate Computer Skills (email, spreadsheets, documentation)
Education and Professional Requirements:
- Highschool or Equivalent
- Must be 21 or older
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
Physical Requirements and Working conditions:
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 50 lbs or more.
- Ability to perform the following physical tasks for extended periods of time: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, palletizing ingredients for shipment, using a hand truck for 55-gallon barrels and carrying boxes.
