The Marketing & Communications Coordinator shares the heart of Hope Blooms through compelling storytelling, thoughtful marketing and engaging digital communications. This position manages the organization's public presence across platforms, creating mission-centered content that builds awareness, inspires engagement and strengthens community connection. Working closely with the Executive Director, who serves as the organization's brand owner, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator helps develop and execute communication strategies and creative initiatives while ensuring every communication reflects Hope Blooms' voice, visual identity and brand standards.
Reports to: Hope Blooms Executive Director
Location: Hope Blooms, 758 34th St. N., Suite O, Fargo, ND 58102
Commitment: 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend commitments may be required.
Classification: Full time/exempt position
Compensation: $45,760 annual salary, 14 PTO days and 8 paid holidays, $25 monthly cell phone stipend. Mileage reimbursement for Hope Blooms-related travel. No other benefits are currently offered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print and in-person channels under the direction of the Executive Director
- Create, edit and review written and visual communications, including standalone graphics, cohesive campaign assets, print materials and digital content that align with Hope Blooms' brand voice, visual identity and messaging standards
- Update the Hope Blooms website, including events, stories, blog articles, organizational metrics and impact data
- Attend Hope Blooms programs, volunteer experiences and community events to capture authentic stories, photography and video that reflect the mission and impact of Hope Blooms
- Build meaningful relationships with program participants, volunteers and community partners to respectfully capture stories and moments that inspire connection and demonstrate organizational impact
- Manage social media planning, content creation, scheduling and posting to engage supporters, volunteers and community partners
- Create and distribute segmented email newsletters tailored to different audiences and communication goals
- Create and edit engaging short-form video content, including reels and other platform-specific videos, for social media, fundraising campaigns and community storytelling
- Track and analyze communication and marketing performance, including social media analytics, website traffic, email engagement and media coverage to identify trends, measure impact and inform future communications
- Compile communication metrics, media impressions, organizational impact data and campaign results for reports, grant applications, board materials and other organizational communications
- Promote and maintain in-shop merchandising that supports brand awareness and community connection
- Promote public awareness of Hope Blooms and represent the organization as a spokesperson, when needed
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with the Executive Director and team members to execute marketing and communication initiatives that support organizational priorities, programs and events
- Provide creative and communication support across the organization, helping each team member effectively share programs, events and organizational initiatives
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to capture meaningful stories while ensuring communications consistently reflect Hope Blooms' brand, voice and values

IDEAL ATTRIBUTES
- Mission-driven with a passion for storytelling, creativity and community connection
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to create polished, accurate content that adheres to Hope Blooms' brand voice, style guide and messaging standards
- Experience creating digital content, graphic design assets and short-form video for social media and other communication channels
- Strong visual storytelling skills with an eye for composition, compelling imagery and brand consistency
- Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment and empathy when photographing and sharing stories of program participants
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or other design tools a plus
- Familiarity with WordPress or other website management platforms
- Experience with email marketing platforms
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and consistency
- Positive, welcoming and professional communication style
- Comfortable speaking to groups and representing Hope Blooms at events or in the community
- Willingness to travel within the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo area and surrounding communities
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, as needed
- Possesses a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Must pass a background check
