Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Seafood Manager to lead our seafood market with enthusiasm and expertise. This role is vital in ensuring the freshness, quality, and presentation of seafood products while delivering exceptional customer service. As a Seafood Manager, you will oversee daily operations , manage inventory, and do kitchen prep for prepared items . This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your management skills within a small but vibrant retail environment focused on fresh seafood.

Responsibilities

Lead the seafood department by managing daily operations, including stocking, merchandising, and maintaining product quality
Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock rotation, and inventory control to minimize waste and maximize profitability
Preparw medium to large batch cooked foods such as seafood chowders, baked clams, crabcakes, side dishes salads, and appetizers
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and store policies
Manage cash handling procedures, POS systems, and cashiering duties during shifts
Coordinate purchasing decisions with suppliers, negotiate prices, and monitor product freshness and availability in conjunction with ownershily

Requirements

Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities in seafood or perishable goods
Strong knowledge of seafood products, merchandising techniques, and inventory control practices
Food knowledge and culinary skills
Demonstrated skills in negotiation, purchasing, and vendor relations to secure the best deals for the store
Experience with POS systems and cash handling
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams through training & development initiatives and effective managerial communication especially during busy seasons like Christmas or summer.
Organizational skills necessary for shift management, inventory oversight, merchandising, and operational planning
Familiarity with retail sales strategies, marketing techniques, budgeting processes, and retail industry standards
Ability to handle customer inquiries professionally using phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills
Previous experience in retail store product knowledge related to grocery or seafood sales is preferred
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
