Full Job Description

Overview

To build highly automated, long-endurance UAV platforms capable of operating in the most demanding environments to support defense, security, infrastructure monitoring, disaster response, and other critical missions.

Key Responsibilities

Composite Manufacturing Operations

Lay up fiberglass and carbon-fiber reinforcements into molds using wet-layup composite manufacturing processes.
Build and maintain vacuum bags including peel ply, release film, breather, sealant tape, and bag film systems.
Move parts through cure, post-cure, demold, trim, finish, and sanding operations according to work instructions.
Support in-mold paint preparation and post-paint finishing activities.

Process Control & Quality

Follow layup checklists, cure-cycle instructions, and material traceability requirements.
Maintain mold-release procedures, mold logs, and tooling cleanliness standards.
Assist with first-article builds and process trials during production ramp-up.
Communicate quality concerns and process deviations to supervisors and Quality personnel.

Safety & Compliance

Follow ESD-safe and FOD-safe manufacturing practices.
Properly handle epoxy resin, catalysts, solvents, paints, and composite consumables.
Wear required PPE including respirators, gloves, Tyvek suits, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
Maintain clean, organized, and 5S-compliant workstations.

Team Collaboration

Cross-train across multiple composite operations to support flexible manufacturing operations.
Work closely with Composites Leads, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
Learn and apply proven Skyeton composite manufacturing processes with support from experienced mentors and trainers.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and follow written work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing checklists in English.
Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
Ability to work safely in industrial manufacturing environments with chemical, dust, and noise exposure.
Reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
Ability to wear required PPE and pass respirator fit-testing requirements.
Ability to stand, bend, climb, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in aerospace, marine, automotive, wind-energy, motorsports, or industrial composites manufacturing.
Experience working in AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Trade school or technical training in composites, fabrication, machining, welding, or related skilled trades.
Military aviation maintenance or fabrication experience.
Familiarity with wet-layup composite manufacturing processes.
Experience using vacuum bagging systems and composite finishing tools.

Work Environment

Full-time, on-site manufacturing role in Fayetteville, NC
First-shift operations initially with future second-shift opportunities
Frequent standing, lifting, bending, climbing, and hands-on manufacturing work
Exposure to industrial manufacturing environments including composite materials, cure rooms, and sanding/finishing operations
Overtime opportunities during production ramp-up and first-article manufacturing periods
