Experienced Infant Nanny Needed for Warm Brighton Family (Long-Term Role)

- Location: Brighton, Michigan (near US 23 and Grand River Ave - excellent opportunity for candidates in Brighton, Howell, Ann Arbor, Novi, South Lyon, and surrounding communities)
- Ideal Start Date: September 2, 2026
- Schedule: 5 days per week, approximately 30–32 guaranteed hours per week. The ideal schedule is an 8am or 9am start each weekday. Family is flexible on the exact schedule. Occasional late evening flexibility appreciated.
- Children: One child, approximately 11 months old at start
- Compensation: $27–$30/hour DOE, 30–32 guaranteed hours per week, paid time off, paid sick leave, paid federal holidays. Family will pay legally via household payroll service.

The family would love to work with a nanny who brings thoughtful ideas, communicates proactively, and serves as a trusted childcare partner rather than simply supervising the day. Because these are first-time parents, they would genuinely value a nanny who can occasionally share helpful insights or ideas based on prior infant experience.
The position will primarily take place in the family’s home, though walks, outdoor time, and age-appropriate outings are encouraged as the child grows and routines evolve.
This role includes occasional late evening flexibility, though the standard position will remain approximately 30–32 guaranteed hours across five weekdays.
Responsibilities:
- Provide loving, attentive, developmentally focused care for one infant child
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate developmental play and activities
- Support developmental milestones through interactive, hands-on care
- Manage feeding, bottle support, diapering, hygiene care, and infant routines
- Support naps and maintain a consistent daily rhythm
- Take the child on walks, outdoor time, and age-appropriate outings as appropriate
- Provide occasional bath time support
- Handle baby laundry
- Clean and sanitize bottles and related feeding items
- Maintain organization of toys and child spaces
- Complete end-of-day child-related tidying and reset
- Provide clear, proactive communication with parents regarding routines, development, and observations
Nanny Attributes / Qualifications / Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5+ years of relevant childcare experience
- At least 2 recent years of infant experience required
- Strong infant care knowledge and developmental awareness
- Experience independently managing a child’s routines and daily care
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification required
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred and up to date on influenza, MMR, and TDAP vaccinations
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with parents
- Calm, warm, emotionally steady demeanor
- Highly reliable, punctual, and consistent
- Professional judgment and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in a home where one parent frequently works from home
- Valid driver’s license preferred but not required
- Non-smoker
- Ability to pass a background check
- Comfortable around dogs
Preferred but not required:
- Early Childhood Education background
- Newborn Care Specialist training or experience
- Additional language skills
- Prior long-term nanny experience with infants
