RECERTIFICATION SPECIALIST

The Fergus Falls Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Recertification Specialist. This position is full-time - 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm.

Starting salary range is $20.25/hour - $22.50/hour depending on qualifications and experience. The HRA offers an excellent benefit package that includes 14 paid holidays, 96 hours of paid sick leave, 80 hours of paid vacation, healthcare, dental, and life insurance, plus a contribution to retirement.

The Recertification Specialist is responsible for annual and interim income recertification and the scheduling of physical inspections to maintain eligibility for tenant based state and federal rent subsidies. This includes general office operations and administrative secretarial tasks such as handling correspondence, calls, greeting individuals, filing and scanning, entering data into HRA systems, keeping HRA forms up to date, and providing other administrative tasks as directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Valid Class D MN Driver’s license.

· Two years of experience in an office setting, housing field, or social services programs is preferred.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills

· Ability to work effectively with a diverse population, multi-task and have strong attention to detail.

· Demonstrate excellent communication skills in dealing with individuals and groups – both oral and written form

· Proficiency with a computer, basic software (Word, Excel), and ability to learn housing specific software

· Ability to work in a team environment and be an effective team member to benefit the HRA

· Must be able to follow directions, provide excellent customer service, display respect and professionalism at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds or perform frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force.

· Position involves listening, speaking clearly, and visual acuity.

· Physical demands require frequently walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting.

· Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities.

· Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
