About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with dermatology experience to join our growing outpatient practice. Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of acute and chronic dermatologic conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, skin cancers, and other disorders.
- Perform comprehensive skin examinations and skin cancer screenings.
- Conduct in-office dermatologic procedures, including shave, punch, and excisional biopsies, cryotherapy, electrodessication, lesion removal, incision and drainage, and wound management within the APRN scope of practice.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe medications according to Florida regulations and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, skincare, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations.
- Accurately document patient encounters using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with dermatologists, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and all applicable federal and Florida healthcare regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to remain current with advances in dermatology.
Qualifications
Required
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and APRN licenses.
- National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or equivalent.
- Ability to manage patient care autonomously
- Active DEA registration
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of dermatology experience as an APRN.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, procedural, and patient communication skills. Experience with EMR systems.
Preferred
- Experience in medical, surgical, and/or cosmetic dermatology.
- Experience performing skin biopsies, cryotherapy, lesion excisions, and other office-based dermatologic procedures.
- Knowledge of biologic therapies and current dermatology treatment guidelines.
- Ability to manage a high-volume outpatient schedule while maintaining exceptional patient satisfaction.
