Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex tax planning, compliance, and reporting initiatives, ensuring adherence to all relevant tax laws and industry regulations. Your expertise will support strategic decision-making and optimize our organization’s tax position. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the company’s financial success through meticulous tax management and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Develop comprehensive financial models to support tax planning strategies and evaluate potential mergers & acquisitions.
Conduct detailed analysis of financial data using spreadsheets and financial software to identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and insights into tax-related matters.
Stay current with industry knowledge of financial regulations, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and evolving tax laws to advise the organization proactively.
Assist in the development of internal controls related to tax accounting processes and ensure adherence to financial regulatory standards.
Communicate complex tax issues clearly to clients and internal stakeholders, providing guidance on compliance requirements and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on tax accounting; prior experience as a senior or lead accountant is preferred.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel spreadsheets for analysis and modeling purposes.
Demonstrated ability in financial model development, mergers & acquisitions analysis, and project management within a finance context.
In-depth understanding of GAAP standards, financial regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail in auditing processes and financial regulatory compliance efforts.
Familiarity with financial software systems used for tax preparation, reporting, and analysis.
Effective client communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and professionally.
