Job Duties
The Trainer and Instructor II coordinates Implementation of New Employee Orientation (NEO) programming
Ensures topics and material covered in NEO are compliant with mandatory DBHDS and COV training requirements, and maintains master NEO Binder with most up-to-date materials.
Ensures all NEOs are scheduled and all stakeholders notified at least one week prior to the start of NEO.
Coordinates with presenters to ensure adequate and appropriate training provided
Substitutes as necessary for regular presenters or ensure adequate backup training is available.
Collects and maintains records as necessary to document attendance and understanding of material.
They are also responsible for full implementation of CCCA's Therapeutic Options, UKERU, DEFUSE, and First Aid/CPR training programs, including maintaining a minimum of 5 active trainers for each program, ensuring curriculums are current and compliant, scheduling and facilitating classes, and ensuring training records are properly maintained.
Serves as a primary trainer for Therapeutic Options & First Aid/CPR programs, ensuring that all trainers have approximately equal opportunity and responsibility for leading trainings, and also serving as back-up trainer for rest of training staff.
The Trainer and Instructor develops curriculum for identified required training topics, possibly with the assistance of a committee.
Responsible for implement and provide agency specific training.
Identify/recruit/train additional trainers as necessary.
Coordinates, publicizes, and facilitates adequate training schedules to ensure appropriate distribution of training information.
Ensures records of attendance and proficiency are appropriately maintained and communicated.
Facilitates 1:1 or small group staff professional development training as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess excellent planning, organization, and coordinating skills
Must possess superior presentation and teaching skills
Must have demonstrated analytical and creative abilities in order to design and implement training programs and educational activities that provide necessary skills to improve employee performance and job satisfaction
Must be able to communicate and interact with people at all levels of the organization as well as other stakeholders Must possess excellent computer skills, esp. PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, Excel, and willingness and ability to learn new applications as necessary
Additional Considerations
Must be able to achieve CPR/First Aid, Therapeutic Options, DEFUSE Trainer Certifications, as well as other necessary certifications to train on specific required policies, procedures, programs, software, etc.
Experience in mental health or related field with emphasis on education and staff development preferred
