Austin Ryan Optika is seeking a motivated, professional, and patient-focused Full-Time Clinical Technician / Optometric Technician to join our team.
This is more than a traditional pretesting position. Our Clinical Technician plays an important role in our TekVue™ Advanced Comprehensive Eye Examination, using modern diagnostic technology to gather clinical information and prepare patients for evaluation by our Optometrist.

Starting Rate: $20.00/hour
After Successful TekVue™ Training: $21.00/hour
After Demonstrated Clinical Competency: $22.00/hour
Additional compensation opportunities may be available as experience, responsibilities, and leadership abilities increase.
Primary Responsibilities
The Clinical Technician will:
- Greet patients and help provide a welcoming, professional experience
- Prepare patients for their comprehensive eye examinations
- Obtain and document accurate patient histories
- Perform preliminary and diagnostic testing
- Operate advanced ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
- Perform testing such as autorefraction, keratometry, tonometry, retinal imaging and OCT
- Prepare patients and clinical information for the Optometrist
- Assist with the TekVue™ examination process
- Accurately enter and upload clinical information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Maintain proper patient flow throughout the examination process
- Ensure testing rooms and diagnostic equipment are clean, organized and prepared
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding the testing being performed
- Work closely with Optometrists, Opticians and Patient Care Coordinators
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
- Assist with other clinical responsibilities as needed

Experience
Previous experience as an Optometric Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, Medical Assistant or other healthcare technician is preferred, but we are willing to train an exceptional candidate with the right attitude, professionalism and ability to learn.
Experience with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system is a plus.
