About Apex Intelligence
Apex Intelligence is a digital marketing and automotive growth company focused on helping dealerships improve marketing, visibility, lead generation, and business operations.
We are currently building an automotive software tool and are looking for a contract developer to help finalize, stabilize, and prepare the project for real-world use.
About the Project
We have an automotive software project that is already partially built and functional. The core concept, layout, and much of the front-end experience have already been created.
We are looking for a developer who can come in, review the existing build, clean up the codebase, fix issues, improve stability, and help get the project ready to go live.
This is not a “start from scratch” project. We need someone who is comfortable jumping into an existing build, understanding what has already been created, and helping turn it into a more polished, reliable, production-ready web app.
The right person should be able to work independently, identify what needs to be fixed, communicate clearly, and help us finish the project without overcomplicating it.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities may include:
- Review the existing automotive software build
- Audit the current codebase for issues, bugs, and weak points
- Clean up front-end and back-end functionality where needed
- Help stabilize the app so it does not break during use
- Improve user flow, routing, buttons, forms, and page functionality
- Make sure the app is responsive and works well across screen sizes
- Fix bugs, broken pages, broken buttons, and inconsistent behavior
- Help connect or prepare basic database/API structures if needed
- Review deployment setup and help prepare the app to go live
- Help set up or clean up environment variables, hosting, and production settings
- Make recommendations on what needs to be fixed now versus later
- Work with leadership to understand the business goal and desired user experience
- Communicate clearly on progress, blockers, risks, and next steps
- Help make the software feel legitimate, stable, and ready for real users
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Strong with modern web app development
- Comfortable reviewing and improving an existing codebase
- Good at debugging and problem-solving
- Able to work with AI-assisted builds and clean them up properly
- Practical and efficient, not someone who over-engineers everything
- Comfortable taking a project from prototype to launch-ready
- Detail-oriented with user experience and functionality
- Clear and honest in communication
- Able to explain technical issues in simple terms
- Reliable with deadlines and follow-through
- Comfortable working directly with non-technical leadership
Technical Skills
Experience with some or all of the following is preferred:
- React
- Next.js
- TypeScript
- JavaScript
- Tailwind CSS
- Node.js
- Supabase, Firebase, or similar database tools
- API integrations
- Vercel or similar deployment platforms
- GitHub
- Authentication, routing, forms, and dashboard-style web apps
- AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT
Bonus Experience
Bonus if you have experience with:
- Automotive software
- SaaS dashboards
- Internal business tools
- Marketing technology
- CRM-style platforms
- Data dashboards
- Client-facing web apps
- API-based reporting tools
- Cleaning up AI-generated or prototype code
Requirements
- Must have experience building or improving web apps
- Must be comfortable working with an existing project
- Must be able to review code and identify what needs to be fixed
- Must communicate clearly and honestly
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to help prepare the project for deployment or production use
- Must be comfortable signing an NDA before reviewing project details
Compensation
This is a contract project.
Compensation will be based on experience, project scope, and timeline. Please include your expected project rate or hourly rate when applying.
