Job responsibilities

50% — Sales/business development
Call on grading contractors, paving contractors, concrete companies, ready-mix plants, developers, homebuilders, municipalities, etc
Find upcoming projects
Develop relationships with estimators, project managers and purchasing people.
Quote material and negotiate pricing.
Track competitors’ pricing.
Actively pursue large-volume accounts.
25% — Account management
Take care of existing customers.
Schedule/coordinate orders.
Handle customer problems.
Make sure loads are getting out correctly.
Follow up on quotes.
15% — Quarry/office coordination
Communicate with the scale/loadout operator.
Track tonnage sold.
Coordinate trucking when necessary.
Help with AR/AP paperwork, purchase orders, tickets and invoices.
Maintain customer records and pricing.
10% — Market intelligence
Watch upcoming construction projects.
Identify who won the project.
Find out what aggregate they’re going to need.
Track competing pits and their pricing.
Build a database of contractors and upcoming work.

Pay: From $32.00 per hour
