Full Job Description

The Branch Manager has complete responsibility for all branch activities and functions, including the achievement of assigned goals in loan volume, business development, profitability, delinquency control, expense control, and bad debt expense, in accordance with company guidelines and all State and Federal laws/requirements. Additionally, the Branch Manager has complete responsibility for all branch administrative functions. The position is subject to all U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) laws and rules governing exempt/non-exempt qualifications. Per that rule, this position has been determined to be defined and classified as “Administrative”.

Job Requirements/Skills

· Must have an extensive knowledge of consumer lending, collections, credit loan products, credit insurance products, and credit services.

· Possess, exercise, and adhere to fundamentally sound credit judgment.

· Must have a thorough knowledge of all Federal and Alabama state lending and collection laws, consumer loan documentation, and loan servicing requirements.

· Must have a proficient knowledge of the Credex operating system, including the ability to master all administrative Credex functions. Must be able to perform all system requirements, including payment processing, loan servicing, and the preparation of loan documentation.

· Possess a working knowledge of basic accounting procedures; have the ability to perform financial functions on a calculator and possess a working knowledge of Microsoft office programs.

· Understand and effectively carry out assigned duties with limited supervision.

· Have the ability to constructively and objectively handle stressful situations and individuals.

· Possess excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, and management skills.

· Demonstrate leadership ability to manage/direct/inspire staff and coordinate and monitor workflow in an efficient manner.

· Utilize organizational skills to plan out, manage, and organize branch staff, using their talents in the most efficient/effective way.

Administrative Responsibilities

· Responsible for all branch administrative functions, including:

(1) Payroll - determining the number of hours worked by branch staff, the submission of hours paid straight-time, the calculation of time paid on an over-time basis, number of hours available for sick and vacation time, paid and the appropriate hourly pay.

(2) Delinquency Grading – determining the appropriate grading of past due accounts, accounts to be charged-off, accounts to be deferred, accounts to have terms adjusted.

(3) Work Hours – scheduling of work hours per employee based on results of the branch.

(4) Charge-off – determining the specific accounts to be charged off based on the delinquency grading; the actual charging off of accounts.

(5) Human Resources – conduct an annual merit review of all branch employees, determine pay increase, submit through the payroll system

(6) Compliance – determine level of compliance by subject: Red Flag Policy, CFPB Complaints, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), all state-specific laws.

Business Development

· Achieve monthly volume goals.

· Solicit current customer base through counter, telephone, and mail solicitations.

· Mail solicitation with themes specific to the current month.

·Delinquency Control

· Achieve delinquency standards as follows: current month late roll < 5%, total branch delinquency < 12%, and charge-offs < 7.5%.

· Evaluate, determine, and recommend to senior management, accounts needing legal action and repossession.

· Collect charged-off/P&L accounts.

· Evaluate bankruptcy filings and need for outside legal counsel.

· Approve partial payments, accounts needing adjusted terms and deferments, maintaining < 3% AOTs and < 15% deferred accounts.

Audit and Compliance

· Review all closed loans to ensure proper level of approval authority, compliance with State and Federal laws, compliance with company guidelines, and soundness of credit judgment.

· Complete weekly, monthly, and annual reports by required deadline. Reports include daily loan report, weekly loan report, daily loan tracking report, weekly delinquency report, potential ineligible report, charge-off report, returned check log, AOT log, deferment log, due date change log, profit calculator, and any other reports assigned by senior management.

· Approve all expenses paid by the branch and ensure proper documentation is secured.

Profitability

· Responsible for the achievement of the annual profitability through:

1. Development of new and renewed loans

2. Loan pricing

3. Control of expenses (Including bad debt expense)

4. Collection of monthly loan payments

5. Collection of fee income - late charges, deferment fees, and returned check fees.

6. Control of bad debt expense (charge-off)

Human Resources

· Responsible for scheduling staff work hours, approving and tracking of vacation time and sick hours, and performing annual merit reviews on branch employees.

Time Allotment

· 40% - Lending and Business development

· 40 % - Collection activities

· 15% - Audit, compliance and tracking

· 5% - Other tasks assigned by senior management
