Job Summary

Heritage Post Acute of Florence is seeking a dependable and experienced FoodNutrition Cook to join our Dietary Services team. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. As a Cook, you will play an important role in enhancing the dining experience and overall well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and therapeutic diet orders.
Ensure meals are prepared, portioned, and served on time.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas.
Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate documentation.
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food inventory.
Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and dietary staff to ensure quality meal service.
Follow all state, federal, and facility policies and procedures.
Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and team members.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, hospital, or institutional setting preferred.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, therapeutic diets, and sanitation regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable attendance and a positive, resident-focused attitude.
