Position Summary:
Construction Phase
This position will perform construction and field observation on projects for assurance that the project has been completed in close compliance with plans and specifications. Once trained, position works independently with minimal supervision and will apply knowledge of construction practices and equipment testing requirements to document Contractor’s construction progress and perform quality assurance on projects.
Operation Phase
Responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of industrial manufacturing and packaging equipment (such as pump, motor, agitator, cooling tower, chiller, air compressor)requiring a strong mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but not limited to the following:
Construction Phase
- Responsible for field observation of all civil (foundation and reinforcement), steel, architecture , equipment , thermal insulation installation, coating engineering.
- Assistance with Engineer/Manager to Perform field observation/inspection for monitoring performance and progress, quality of contractors and confront design compliance issues with contractors when identified.
- Assistance with Engineer/Manager to perform mechanical equipment start-up, water commissioning and related trouble shooting.
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, drawings for quality assurance during construction process.
- Monitor the metal/plastic piping welding quality of contractors.
- Use measuring tools to confirm if construction comply with standard, such as Positive Material- identification, level gauge, ultrasonic wall thickness gauges, vibration measurement tools , shaft-alignment tools..etc.
- Coordination with various engineering disciplines related to construction and deals with each interface (Process, Piping, Electrical, Instrument , EHS, Procurement, Logistics).
- Planning and inquiry for repair or inspection of measuring tools.
- Complete detailed construction reports using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point.
Operation Phase
- Effectively complete preventive and proactive maintenance per the schedule to prevent breakdowns on equipment.
- Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial manufacturing and packaging equipment such as pump, motor, agitator, cooling tower, chiller, air compressor.
- Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
- Initial responder when a line stops producing and assures that the appropriate mechanical help is on-site to correct any problems quickly using mechanical skills.
- Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as necessary.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using testing devices.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational and safety performance standards.
- Prioritizes work to ensure timely maintenance, repair and installation of equipment, tools and utility systems to minimize manufacturing downtime and completes all required paperwork and documentation in the SAP.
- Painting steel, piping, equipment if exterior damaged.
- Perform other duties as required by the manager.
Required/Preferred Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2-year degree from technical school or college, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in chemical industrial manufacturing maintenance required.
- Must have equipment troubleshooting and repair skills such as pump, motor, agitator, cooling tower
- Must have forklift and scissor/boom lift operating skills.
- Must have machine tool (such as lathe, milling, drilling, grinder)operating skills.
- Must have welding metal and plastic material skills including tig and stick welding.
- Must have welding seam(joints) visual inspection capability.
- Must have Auto CAD understanding.
- Must be available to work off shifts and work overtime depending on business needs.
- On-call is required under operation phase
- Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
- Compliance with Process safety, ergonomics, OSHA, environmental agencies, applicable codes, and regulatory agencies

3.) Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
4.) The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
5.) Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
6.) Chemical protective clothing is required for chemical hazards working area.
7.) Work is primarily outside and will have exposure to extreme weather conditions and nature elements. Will need appropriate clothing for extreme weather conditions.
8.) Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl and balance for extended periods of time.
9.) In specific condition, working at height and confined space is required.
10.) Need to work at trailer office under construction phase.
11.) Must pass a pre-employment medical exam to wear a respirator
12.) Must be able to wear a respirator for the duration of painting and confined space operations.
