Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital part of producing precision-engineered components for a variety of industries. In this energetic role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to craft high-quality parts with accuracy and efficiency. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering top-tier products while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Responsibilities

Operate CNC machines such as lathes and milling centers, primarily utilizing Fanuc controls, to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, ensuring optimal tool paths and machining strategies for efficiency and quality.
Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), blueprints, and schematics to ensure precise manufacturing processes.
Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to achieve tight tolerances.
Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues promptly, and make necessary adjustments to maintain continuous production flow.
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, and laser measurement tools to verify part dimensions during the manufacturing process.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity through efficient tooling and setup procedures.

Requirements

Proven experience operating CNC machinery including CNC lathes and milling machines with Fanuc or similar controls.
Strong background in CNC programming using CAM software; familiarity with SolidWorks or CAD programs is highly desirable.
Excellent understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings to produce precise components.
Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and assembly is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances necessary for machining operations.
Ability to use hand tools such as power tools, wrenches, screwdrivers, along with tooling management skills.
Experience working with precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other quality control tools.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficient workflows; forklift certification is advantageous for material handling tasks.
Strong safety awareness; ability to operate power tools safely in a manufacturing environment involving plastics injection molding or other fabrication processes.
