Full Job Description

Job Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Caregiver, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), or Companion, where your dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals needing support with daily activities and health management. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, foster independence, and promote well-being in various settings such as private homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, and nursing homes. Your energetic and caring approach will help create a warm, safe environment for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in patient observation, medication reminders, and dementia or memory care while building rewarding relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
Monitor and observe for any changes in health or behavior to ensure safety and well-being
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
Medication reminders, accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality
Support clients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia through memory care techniques and patient engagement strategies
Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare standards
Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment to promote hygiene and comfort
Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies

Experience

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies, or group homes is highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia-related conditions
Knowledge of patient care procedures including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and use of mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
Experience in providing compassionate long-term care or hospice support is advantageous
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy and confidentiality at all times
Hands-on experience with patient observation, working with residents’ care plans, and assisting with ADLs in a home or community setting
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance
