The Pricing Specialist contributes to the maximization of profits and attainment of company goals through pricing data analysis, trend identification, pricing metrics management, and support of the pricing, costing, and product information planning related objectives of the company owned store (COS) group/s. This includes working with and maintaining the pricing structure, price lists, reviewing existing and competitor pricing, creating reporting, providing analysis, and working with disparate data sources to support pricing related metrics and processes that improve profitability. Collaborates with cross functional teams to determine pricing related needs, providing analysis and recommendations to support successful programs and processes. This position requires a blend of a strong business aptitude combined with high technical proficiency.

Mines, analyzes, and interprets data for business planning, pricing and product related decision making, and makes recommendations to management.

Analyzes competitor pricing and market trends to inform pricing Includes utilizing Johnstone Supply LLC pricing models, files, and information.

Working with Pricing and Vendor Management teams, maintains the group/s pricing programs and identifies pricing program opportunities and Monitors and adjusts pricing based on market conditions and sales data.

Creates reports, provides analysis, and generates information on pricing strategies and performance metrics in a variety of formats and for a variety of audiences.

Provides data analysis and trending to leadership to align vendor initiatives and pricing strategies as well as address sales needs.

Supports the marketing, product, and sales teams with research and data for promotional programs and initiative support; may provide information on evaluation of effectiveness of promotions and pricing Assists with alignment of vendor initiatives and pricing strategies.

Identifies, develops, implements, and makes recommendations for reporting, KPI and other metrics, and other process improvements related to the Pricing department for the assigned COS group/s.

Utilizes mathematics, statistics, and a variety of data sets to understand pricing and make recommendations to decision Includes analysis of and recommendations on customer and sales requests for price changes.

Maintains awareness of group/s sales and profit goals and supports pricing objectives to obtain same.

Works in close partnership with cross-functional teams across the organization to define business rules and requirements for effective and efficient data processes.

Conducts market research and maintains abreast of pricing related industry and company trends and needs.

Assists, participates in, and may lead projects as assigned.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience working with the maintenance of product information, data, analytics, or related field.

Technical understanding of databases and report writing is required with proficiency in Business Intelligence solutions (i.e. Power BI, Tableau) and VBA, Python and/or .NET.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to collect, compile, analyze, and interpret a variety of information and translate into recommendations and solutions.

While multilingual skills are valued, English proficiency (written and spoken) is a core requirement for this position due to the nature of the work, safety regulations, and to ensure accurate communication and comprehension.
Required:

A four-year (BA) degree in business administration, finance, technology, data analytics, or related field is required.

Minimum of three years of related experience in a pricing or business data analytics role.

High degree of proficiency in Excel and database skills required.
Preferred:

Experience supporting a multi-location wholesale distribution environment preferred.

Experience with Phocas BI software preferred.

Experience with ERP systems preferred.
