Full Job Description

Title Company Closing Agent

Our growing company is recruiting for the position of Title Agent. This key team member will oversee and/or execute all real estate closings. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in real estate principles and fully understand the legal aspects of property transfer.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

Facilitate the closing process, ensuring all conditions are met and documents are signed.
Collaborate and coordinate with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders and other relevant parties.
Prepare and review all necessary documents for real estate transactions, including deeds, mortgages, and settlement statements.
Conduct final reviews and implement other quality control measures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Ensure that legal settlement documents are recorded with the appropriate county government.
Review and analyze property titles to identify any issues or discrepancies. Ensure clear and marketable titles for all transactions.
Proactively resolve any issues or disputes that arise during the title and escrow process. Provide solutions to ensure smooth transactions.
Manage escrow accounts, including the receipt and disbursement of funds. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory laws, company policy, procedures and practices.
Stay current regarding changes in the real estate industry. Educate team members regarding compliance.
Assist in drafting/updating related company policies, standard operating procedures, and job aids such as training materials, and other documentation.
Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years experience required as a Title Agent.
Work history that demonstrates professional maturity and dependability.
Strong understanding of real estate transactions, property transfer, title insurance, and related compliance.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Some experience in team leadership preferred.
Proficiency in relevant software and technology. Experience in Qualia a plus.

This team member will work in an office setting. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work, usually at a computer terminal. However, there may be some bending/stooping, reaching above shoulder level, walking; standing; carrying of light items such as papers, books, or packages of up to 25 pounds. Should be able to hear and speak clearly using phone to communicate with title closing stakeholders.
