Full Job Description

BHATE Geosciences, a company with over 50 years of experience as a nationally recognized geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing firm, has an immediate opening in our southeast division for a CMT staff engineer. BHATE provides a culture of professional growth by developing technical expertise, professional ethics and mentoring relationships. Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Manage Construction Materials Testing (CMT) projects, ensuring they remain within budget and adhere to strict delivery schedules.
Technical Analysis: Prepare and evaluate complex laboratory and field data for soils, concrete, steel, and asphalt to ensure compliance with ASTM and AASHTO standards.
Industry Certifications: Take a role in managing certifications for CMT Department, laboratories and personnel, including ACI, AMRL, CCRL, and DOT certifications.
Consultative Reporting: Draft and review technical field reports
Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, managing bid evaluations and cost estimates.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geologic Engineering, or a related field (Required). Candidates with a Master’s Degree or MBA will be given priority.
Experience: 0 to 4 years of professional experience in CMT or geotechnical engineering.
Licensure: EIT certification in the State of Alabama, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months, is required.
Certifications: NICET, ACI, ICC, or PCI certifications are required (or must be obtained within 12 months).
Technical Proficiency: Required experience with building material properties across a broad array of construction projects.
