Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit R04, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by three percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Under the general supervision of the Manager II, Fiscal Management Section (FMS), the Office Technician (Typing) provides general clerical support services for the Manager II, as well as other managers and analytical staff within FMS. This position requires proficiency in the use of computers and knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. This classification is at the entry level, and the incumbent should have the ability to format correspondence; spell correctly; proofread for proper use of grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary; and correct errors at a level required for successful job performance.

This position is located in the Fiscal Management Section, which is responsible for managing/tracking California Correctional Health Care Services’ budget and the development of various procedures and processes related to its management.

You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.
