Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Plant Manager to join our manufacturing operations team. This pivotal role supports the Plant Manager in overseeing daily production activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in manufacturing systems, and a proactive approach to process improvement. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and optimize plant performance.

Duties

Assist in managing production schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing resource utilization through effective production planning.
Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process efficiency and reduce waste.
Oversee daily plant operations, including assembly lines, equipment maintenance, and quality control processes.
Utilize ERP systems such as Oracle and other manufacturing management systems to monitor production data, analyze trends, and support decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain management, quality assurance, and engineering to facilitate seamless operations.
Lead efforts in process improvement initiatives by analyzing data with tools like Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist in managing inventory levels through effective supply chain management and production scheduling strategies.
Support the development of staff through team leadership, training programs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience

Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Familiarity with Oracle, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), ERP systems, and production management software.
Strong background in manufacturing management systems, process improvement techniques such as Lean management, and quality control practices.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data using Excel for operational insights and decision-making.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, assembly processes, and plant operations management.
Experience leading cross-functional teams with excellent communication skills.
Certifications or training in Six Sigma or lean manufacturing methodologies are highly desirable.
Prior experience in supply chain analytics, production scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
