We are looking for a professional with a friendly attitude and the ability to effectively and efficiently assist our dentists in providing high-quality dental care our patients. Rock River Community Clinic is a non-profit community health center that provides dental care services located in Johnson Creek.
The Dental Assistant Float provides flexible clinical and operational support to the dental team to maintain efficient patient flow, support high-quality patient care, and ensure smooth daily clinic operations. This position assists with patient preparation, operatory turnover and setup, radiographs, sterilization support, inventory and supply management, documentation, and general clinic support duties across providers and operatories as needed. Strong communication and collaboration with all clinic team members is essential to support coordinated, efficient, and patient-centered care. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred.
In this position, you will play a key role by performing various interpersonal and technical tasks.
Although state regulations vary, essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Prepares operatories for patient care, including setup, turnover, stocking, cleaning, and end-of-day shutdown tasks in accordance with clinic protocols and infection control standards.
- Welcomes, seats, and prepares patients for treatment by obtaining vital signs as needed, confirming consents and health histories, and preparing charts, radiographs, and documentation for the provider.
- Provides chairside support before, during, and after procedures by assisting with room setup, gathering supplies and instruments, ensuring patient flow, and completing other clinical support tasks.
- Obtains diagnostic images, including dental radiographs and panoramic x-rays for new patients, following clinic protocols and safety standards.
- Supports sterilization, vacuum system maintenance, suction traps, oil traps, and other routine equipment and infection prevention workflows.
- Maintains organized clinical supply areas through daily stocking, inventory system upkeep, and monthly inventory counts.
- Completes administrative support tasks including scanning forms, updating records in CareStack, referrals, and verifying procedure codes and provider information.
- Provides flexible support across providers, operatories, and clinic locations to support efficient dental operations and high-quality patient care.
- Prioritizes clear, professional, and timely communication with providers, assistants, front office staff, sterilization staff, and other clinic team members to support coordinated clinic operations and patient care.

- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred

- High School Diploma or GED
Licenses/Certifications
- A dental assistant degree;
- or at least 1 year of dental assisting experience.

- Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience
- Experience in a primary care, FQHC, or community health setting strongly preferred
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
