Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our dynamic Real Estate team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage comprehensive accounting functions, ensure accuracy in financial records, and support the financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong technical accounting skills, and possess a passion for maintaining precise financial data. Whether working with nonprofit entities or corporate accounts, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and delivering accurate financial reports that drive informed decision-making.

Duties

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including journal entries, account reconciliation, and ledger maintenance using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all account balances through detailed review of transactions and debits & credits
Process payroll and handle accounts payable and receivable to maintain smooth cash flow operations
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Conduct general ledger accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis to ensure compliance with accounting standards
Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and revenues against forecasts while providing insights for financial planning
Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation, supporting schedules, and ensuring adherence to public or non-profit accounting standards

Qualifications

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar software
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices
Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and report writing
Knowledge of financial concepts including GAAP standards, journal entries, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management
Experience with payroll processing and accounts payable/receivable management
Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and prepare clear financial reports
