Overview:
Keysight is at the forefront of technology innovation, delivering breakthroughs and trusted insights in electronic design, simulation, prototyping, test, manufacturing, and optimization. Our ~16,800 employees create world-class solutions in communications, 5G, automotive, energy, quantum, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor markets for customers in over 100 countries. Our award-winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry-first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers.
Our Product Security organization works directly with Keysight R&D teams to help build security into the products and technologies we bring to market. This is a product and software security role, not a traditional enterprise IT security position. You will work alongside software engineers, architects, and product leaders across Keysight, helping them make practical security decisions throughout the product lifecycle, from early design and development through release and sustainment.
We are looking for an experienced Product Security Architect who understands how software is designed and developed and can apply that engineering foundation to complex product security challenges. You will help R&D teams determine which security risks truly matter, lead threat modeling and security architecture reviews, develop reusable security standards and design approaches, and guide the effective use of secure development and security verification practices across a diverse portfolio of Keysight products and technologies.
This role also sits at the intersection of engineering, security, and evolving global product cybersecurity requirements. Working with legal, security, and business partners, you will help translate regulatory and industry requirements into practical guidance that R&D teams can understand and implement. Success in this role requires more than technical security expertise. You must be able to exercise sound engineering judgment, balance security with real-world products and business considerations, and influence experienced technical teams across the organization.
If your background combines software development or software engineering with product or application security, and you enjoy solving complex problems, challenging assumptions, and helping engineering teams build secure products rather than simply enforcing security rules, this may be an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across Keysight's global R&D organization.
This role has a strong preference for an onsite work arrangement at our Loveland, Colorado location. Secondary consideration will be given to candidates who can work onsite from another Keysight office in the United States. We will also consider highly qualified candidates for a remote work arrangement; however, onsite collaboration is preferred for this position. For candidates who are interested in joining the Loveland team but do not currently live in the area, relocation assistance may be available.
Responsibilities:
-
Partner with software engineering, architecture, and product teams across Keysight R&D to evaluate product security risks and provide practical design guidance that balances security, product requirements, scalability, and business needs.
-
Lead security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for new and existing software products and platforms, identifying meaningful security risks and helping engineering teams make informed design decisions.
-
Define and maintain reusable product security reference architectures, secure design patterns, engineering standards, and guidance that enable R&D teams to build security into the software development lifecycle.
-
Guide the adoption and effective use of secure development practices and security tooling, including SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets detection, and CI/CD security controls, helping teams integrate security effectively into their development workflows.
-
Establish risk-based approaches for vulnerability triage, remediation, exception handling, and security verification, helping product teams prioritize security risks based on technical and business impact.
-
Work with Legal, R&D, and other cross-functional partners to understand evolving product cybersecurity regulations and industry requirements and translate them into practical technical requirements and guidance for engineering teams.
-
Research, evaluate, and introduce security technologies, tools, and automation that improve the developer experience and scale product security practices across Keysight.
-
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and security practitioners, influencing security strategy, engineering practices, roadmap priorities, and long-term architectural direction across teams and organizations.
-
Stay current on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, regulatory expectations, and industry practices and apply that knowledge to the evolving security needs of Keysight products.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
-
Typically 8+ years of relevant experience combining software development/software engineering with product security, application security, software security, software architecture, or a related security engineering discipline.
-
Demonstrated experience leading threat modeling, secure architecture reviews, and risk assessments for complex software products or platforms
-
Strong understanding of software development and engineering principles, with hands-on development experience using languages such as C, C#, Java, or other relevant programming languages.
-
Deep knowledge of product and application security, including secure design principles, authentication and authorization, cryptography fundamentals, common application attack patterns, and secure software development practices.
-
Strong knowledge of security testing and development practices, including SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets detection, vulnerability management, and CI/CD security controls, with the ability to guide their effective use within engineering organizations.
-
Demonstrated ability to evaluate security risk and make practical, risk-based recommendations that balance security requirements with product, engineering, and business considerations.
-
Proven ability to influence highly technical audiences without direct authority, build credibility across cross-functional teams, and drive adoption of security standards and practices across multiple engineering organizations.
-
Ability to work effectively with Legal, R&D, and other partners to understand cybersecurity regulatory requirements and translate them into practical technical guidance for product teams.
-
Knowledge of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and other product cybersecurity requirements is preferred; demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and apply evolving regulatory requirements is essential.
-
Ability to research emerging security threats, technologies, and industry practices and apply that knowledge to complex product-security challenges.
